The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) has charged 73 defendants in the case related to the awarding of works by the Directorate-General for National Defense Resources (DGRDN), including former director Alberto Coelho, for passive corruption, money laundering, embezzlement and document forgery.

The indictment in the “Perfect Storm” case, to which the Lusa news agency had access today, also calls for Alberto Coelho to be ordered to pay the state more than 86,000 euros, which corresponds to what they consider to have been the ill-gotten gains.

In addition to Alberto Coelho, the Public Prosecutor’s Office also accused Paulo Morais Branco, former financial director of the DGRDN, of various crimes of passive corruption, money laundering and document forgery and asked for the payment of 415,000 euros. The same crimes were charged against Francisco Marques, former director of infrastructure and heritage services, who is also being asked to pay almost 272 thousand euros.
