The prosecution has announced that an individual from Mirandela, located in the Bragança district, has been charged with 2,689 counts of aggravated child pornography offenses.
According to the charges, during 2023 and 2024, the accused allegedly engaged in the acquisition, possession, and dissemination of erotic, sexual, and pornographic photographs and videos via online networks. These materials reportedly involved sexual abuse committed against children, showcasing minors under the age of 14.
The suspect is currently in pre-trial detention, the most stringent preventive measure available.
The prosecution has requested that the defendant be sentenced to additional penalties, including a ban on practicing any profession or engaging in employment, duties, or activities involving minors. Furthermore, the accused faces a prohibition on being entrusted with minors and a suspension of parental responsibilities.
