Public works contracts awarded through direct adjustments and prior consultations have seen a year-on-year decrease of 22%, amounting to 25 million euros, according to the latest “Public Works Barometer” from the Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Industries (AICCOPN).
Overall, the total value of contracted public works registered on the Base Portal reached 632 million euros as of March 15, marking a 49% increase compared to the same period last year.
Regarding the volume of public works tenders promoted, there was a 33% decline by the end of February, on a year-on-year basis, falling to 1.727 billion euros. However, this figure would have shown an 87% increase if the High-Speed Line tender counted in 2024 was excluded.
“This variation is largely explained by the inclusion in January 2024 of the tender related to the High-Speed Line. Excluding this procedure, the overall amount of tenders promoted up to February 2025 would have recorded a year-on-year increase of 87%,” highlights AICCOPN.
