
The operation aimed to inspect mobile phone retail establishments, resulting in checks on 115 locations and 2,093 devices in total, as reported in the summary by PSP to Lusa at the conclusion of the operation.
Ten mobile phones, three laptops, two iPads, and a cardholder were seized or recovered, according to data provided by Subintendente Adriano Magalhães, commander of the Amadora Division of PSP.
Subintendente Adriano Magalhães noted that stolen or lost mobile phones have frequently been found in that commercial area.
Following the operation, one individual was detained for insults, resistance, and coercion, while two others were identified and taken to the station due to illegal residency in Portugal, both with orders for removal from the Schengen area by third-party countries.
PSP also issued 20 voluntary departure notifications and 20 fines for exceeding the stay limit in the national territory.
Counterfeiting cases were also initiated, leading to the seizure of 12 handbags imitating the Guess brand and 20 devices resembling Apple’s AirPods.
The Amadora Municipal Police filed ten notifications, Social Security issued 11, and the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) filed ten reports, according to the same source.
In total, more than 60 personnel were involved, including members from PSP, Amadora’s Municipal Police, Social Security, and ACT, as stated by the law enforcement source.
