Raimundo appeals to undecided voters to bring their “difficulties” to the vote.

“Let every difficulty in life, every income that is insufficient, every payment that is hard to make […] let these life challenges be present on the 18th,” declared Paulo Raimundo at the final rally of the CDU campaign held at the Sá de Miranda School.

During his speech, the communist leader urged voters to bring “all and each of their difficulties to the vote,” believing that if they vote with awareness, “there is only one option that addresses each and every one of those difficulties.”

“The vote of all those people can only and must be for the Unitary Democratic Coalition,” he emphasized.

Paulo Raimundo called upon all workers, retirees, and young people to “do what they do every day” to “endure their difficult lives” on Sunday.

“Let the short salary for the long month, the inadequate pension, the weight of tuition fees, and the cuts in research be present on the 18th,” he urged, asking everyone to vote “with the same courage they face life’s challenges.”

In a speech delivered past 11:00 PM, after traveling 6,500 kilometers during the campaign, Paulo Raimundo reaffirmed his confidence that the CDU will grow in the upcoming legislative elections, stating that this force has brought “the people’s concerns” to the forefront of political discussion.

He also promised that on Monday, “regardless of the results,” the CDU will be there “with even more confidence and strength.”

The rally began with music by Cantares da Terra, followed by a speech from Vitória, an 18-year-old daughter of a worker, who will be voting for the first time.

“I refuse to accept that the only prospect offered to me is to live worse than my parents, that a house is a luxury and autonomy is a mirage,” the young woman stated, explaining her decision to vote for the CDU on Sunday.

Also at the rally, Braga’s top CDU candidate, teacher Sandra Cardoso, remarked that the current campaign was “marked by empathy,” describing an atmosphere “very different from a year ago.”

“While a year ago, we found many people angry with us because of the firm positions we took, this year we found people who identify with our positions and now understand our reasons,” the candidate emphasized, also criticizing “the nonsense of the strategic vote.”
