Rain affects two homes and leaves six homeless in the municipality of Portel.

A severe flooding incident on Rua de Évora in Alentejo Central has left two families homeless and caused significant material damage, particularly affecting the contents of two residences. The incident, reported by the Alentejo Central Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, resulted in no injuries.

In one of the affected houses, the residents included a 44-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman, and a 4-year-old boy. The second house was home to a 42-year-old man, a 36-year-old woman, and a 7-year-old girl.

“The two houses are currently uninhabitable, and all six individuals will be temporarily relocated to family members’ homes,” stated the source.

The alert for the incident was issued at 5:10 PM, prompting the deployment of 10 Portel firefighters and GNR officers to the scene, supported by three vehicles.
