Recent rainfall in the northern regions of the country is expected to ease starting Sunday. However, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) indicates that there remains a possibility of occasional light showers in the North and Central regions.
On both Sunday and Monday, winds are forecasted to intensify in the western coastal areas, particularly in the afternoon and at higher altitudes.
Minimum temperatures are anticipated to range between 7 and 13 degrees Celsius, while maximum temperatures are likely to fluctuate between 15 and 22 degrees. Colder conditions may be experienced in some northern and central interior areas.
In Fátima, where thousands of pilgrims are expected on May 13, the IPMA forecasts “showers with a possibility of thunderstorms” especially in the afternoon. The wind is expected to be “light to moderate,” predominantly from the northwest, with minimum temperatures around nine degrees and highs approaching 20 degrees.
