The Rede Expressos announced on Thursday the launch of “more than 5,000 tickets per month” at 1.95 euros for trips between Porto, Porto Airport, Braga, and Guimarães.
“This measure comes at a time when the daily passenger traffic between these cities has been growing notably, reflecting the increasing regional dynamics in the north of the country,” read a statement.
According to the company, “the rising pressure of the real estate market in major urban areas, particularly in Porto, has led many Portuguese and Brazilians to seek more affordable housing solutions in nearby cities such as Braga and Guimarães.”
“This phenomenon creates a new wave of regular passengers who require daily transportation at competitive prices. Between 2024 and 2025, Rede Expressos has already recorded a 118% increase in trips from Braga to Porto and 97% in trips from Guimarães to Porto,” it stated.
