A 57-year-old man was arrested on November 29 for possessing a knife with a 10.1-centimeter blade and a total length of 25 centimeters after refusing to pay for what he had consumed at a restaurant near the Oeiras train station.
The arrest followed a request for police presence at the location due to a refusal of payment, detailed the Public Security Police (PSP) in a communication sent to newsrooms on Saturday.
“During a summary search, due to the detainee showing signs of nervousness, a knife with a 10.1-centimeter blade and a total length of 25 centimeters was found inside his backpack,” the note added.
Authorities also confirmed that the man appeared before the court to be subjected to pre-trial measures.
The PSP Division for Public Transport Security further emphasized “its commitment to maintaining public order, ensuring a permanent and preventive presence on Lisbon’s railway and Metro networks to protect citizens and ensure passenger tranquility.”

A man was detained under suspicion of having killed another man, who is yet to be identified, in an open area near Estrada Militar, in Queijas, in the Oeiras municipality.
