Luis Montenegro attended a rally luncheon in Castelo Branco today in support of the candidate backed by the PSD, CDS-PP, and an independent movement, José Augusto Alves.
He humorously referenced his dual role as party leader and head of government, as he has done in other locations.
“As president of the PSD, with the privileged relationship the PSD president has with the prime minister, I can assure you that there will be a very close partnership between public authorities at various levels of decision-making,” he began.
Montenegro added, “The PSD president knows that the prime minister respects and considers any Mayor, regardless of party affiliation.”
“It is their duty, independent of the party, but it is important to know that this relationship will be as consolidated, firm, and capable of deeper intervention as the ideas, principles, and goals are more aligned and coincident. It is natural,” he remarked.
