The family of Lígia Oliveira, an 84-year-old woman missing since Wednesday, November 26, after being seen at Hospital São Sebastião in Santa Maria da Feira, is organizing searches to find her.
The information was shared through an event created on the social network Facebook, titled “Let’s Find You Grandma”.
“Together for this cause. We appeal to the entire population to participate in these searches on the ground to find my grandmother Lígia Oliveira,” it reads.
According to the page, the searches are scheduled for 9:00 AM on Sunday, December 7, with the meeting point at the Hospital of Santa Maria da Feira. The searches will take place “within a two-kilometer radius of the hospital/ center without disregarding any possibility”.

Recall that the 84-year-old woman disappeared on November 26 after being seen at Hospital São Sebastião in Santa Maria da Feira.
The Aveiro district command of the Public Security Police (PSP) informed Lusa that the elderly woman from Oliveira de Azeméis was admitted to the emergency services of the Local Health Unit of Entre Douro and Vouga (ULS EDV) that morning, with “memory lapses and disorientation”.
“She was admitted and, when called to the observation room, did not appear. Around 6:15 PM, it was reported to a PSP colleague [paid on duty at the hospital] that the lady had left without medical discharge, and afterwards, through the surveillance footage, it became clear that at 1:15 PM she had exited the building,” a command source told Lusa.
The management of Hospital da Feira confirmed the elderly woman left “autonomously, through the main door of the Emergency service”, adding: “Immediately all internal procedures for this type of situation were activated, including checking facilities, analyzing surveillance cameras, and contacting the competent authorities”.
The PSP initially disseminated the user’s identification “throughout the Feira precinct” and then extended this alert “to the entire national structure” of the same police force.
“The possible searches around the hospital were carried out,” added the PSP, which says it continues efforts to locate the elderly woman. “But there is no sign of her until now,” stated the same source, on November 28, around 10:00 AM.
A source from São Sebastião also noted that “the hospital continues to work closely with the authorities and remains focused on the safety of users and the strict compliance with its internal procedures”.
In 2024, a similar situation occurred at the same hospital
It is worth noting that, in April 2024, Hospital da Feira recorded a similar incident with an 82-year-old man who left the emergency between diagnostic exams of his own accord and was never located again. At that time, a hospital source stated that the family had not provided “any information that the gentleman was not autonomous or had an incapacity preventing him from being alone”.
The PSP stated that he remains unlocated.
