The traffic was halted for approximately four hours following a collision between two heavy goods vehicles at kilometer 21 in the area of União de Freguesias de Bougado, Trofa municipality, Porto district. The alert was raised at 1:48 PM, according to a source from the Santo Tirso Volunteer Firefighters.
This duration was required to clean the roadway, added the source.
The source also disclosed that the accident resulted in a minor injury, with the individual being transported to São João Hospital in Porto.
According to the Civil Protection website, 16 operatives were present at the scene, supported by six vehicles.
