Repsol has initiated the negotiated sale of a never-used propane and butane gas storage sphere from its Sines facility through a public tender until September 30, the Spanish multinational announced today.
“The direct negotiation sales process is now open for bid submissions, with an open price,” the company announced in a statement regarding the sale operation of a propane/butane (LPG) storage sphere with a usable volume of 5,215 m³.
The sphere, manufactured by Tissot Industrie and never installed or used, is located at Repsol’s Sines facility in Setúbal, ready to be transported to its new destination.
“In line with its commitment to the circular economy and decarbonization, Repsol is making efforts to lead the transition to a more sustainable energy model, applying the principles of the circular economy throughout its value chain,” the company stated, emphasizing that “this sale allows giving a second life to high-value infrastructure, optimizing its use and avoiding its underutilization or premature recycling.”
