The train service provided by Fertagus was disrupted around 11:30 a.m. on Monday due to a lack of tension in the overhead power line, as reported on their official Facebook page. Fertagus, which connects the Lisbon and Setúbal districts, currently serves 14 stations along a railway line approximately 54 kilometers long.

The network includes ten stations on the south bank of the Tagus River—Setúbal, Palmela, Venda do Alcaide, Pinhal Novo, Penalva, Coina, Fogueteiro, Foros de Amora, Corroios, and Pragal—and four stations on the north bank—Campolide, Sete Rios, Entrecampos, and Roma-Areeiro.

A widespread power outage affected both Portugal and Spain from 11:30 a.m. on Monday, with no explanation yet provided by the authorities. The blackout caused airport closures, transport disruptions, and traffic congestion in major cities.

Energy restoration occurred gradually throughout the day, starting in the country’s central region. By approximately 10:30 p.m., E-Redes reported that electricity had been restored to four million homes.
