A woman attempted to kidnap a six-month-old baby on Monday morning but was caught by the child’s mother in a building in Rio de Mouro, Sintra municipality.
The kidnapping attempt occurred around 10:00 a.m. when the child’s mother momentarily left the residence, according to confirmation from the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP).
Nevertheless, the mother “managed to recover” the child from the suspect’s arms, who was still inside the building.
The woman fled the scene but was intercepted by authorities who responded to the incident.
The case has been handed over to the Judiciary Police (PJ).
