The connection between Piornos in the Covilhã municipality, to Torre and Lagoa Comprida in the Seia municipality, was closed at 21:30 on Wednesday due to snowfall and strong winds.
“Traffic is unrestricted from 7 a.m. in Serra da Estrela,” stated a source from the Sub-regional Command for Emergency and Civil Protection of Beiras and Serra da Estrela to Lusa.
The Portuguese mainland is experiencing a cold front with moderate to strong activity, leading to rain, thunderstorms, and wind, according to the IPMA.
Wind gusts are expected to be strong until the early morning hours today.
