Rock NO Rio Febras announces July 24 and 25 as the dates for the 2026 edition.

“We are already ridiculously excited for next year, like puppies asked if they want to go outside. So much so that we’ve already set the date. Mark it down: July 24 and 25, 2026 (just two days for now),” states the organization in a statement to Lusa, maintaining the humor of previous editions.

The small music festival, held on the banks of the Rio Febras in the municipality of Guimarães, Braga district, achieved national recognition in 2023 after Rock in Rio Lisbon requested the formerly named Rock in Rio Febras to change its name, citing trademark infringement and unfair competition, leading to the new name Rock NO Rio Febras.

“The current goal of building a Senior Home is a more achievable target each year. It is with great pride and gratitude (and with that familiar smile) that we announce that with the proceeds from the 2025 edition, we can move forward with the building’s architectural project, with a view of Rio Febras, of course,” the organization reveals.

The fourth edition of Rock NO Rio Febras took place about a month ago, showing many changes and significant evolution from 2022.

“Let’s start with what changed. From 30 volunteers, we grew to 200. Alongside four bands from the municipality, we added a lineup with national and international names. From a single day, we expanded to two, with camping and caravanning facilities, and activities beyond the beautiful happenings on stage. From 1,500 people, we grew to a festival that hosted 14,000 ‘rockers’ on the first day, and 18,000 on the second,” emphasizes the organization.

Rock NO Rio Febras insists that the festival’s roots remain “absolutely unchanged.”

“We speak, of course, of the Febras’ charitable mission and identity. Despite the size, renown, and complexity (to the point of sometimes wondering what on earth we have gotten ourselves into), the festival maintains its community essence. It is a local festival, organized by locals (and Co.), who lend a hand after work, always with strength and a joke at the ready,” reads the statement.

According to the organizers, this essence “is what allows Febras to continue being what it has always been: a 100% volunteer and, therefore, 100% charitable event.”
