Santa Cruz das Flores with the closest election. The difference was 8 votes.

The most decisive victory in terms of vote margin occurred in Oeiras, Lisbon, where the independent candidacy of Isaltino Morais, supported by the PSD, secured 42,786 more votes than the PS candidacy.

An analysis of the results conducted identified Santa Cruz as one of the most hotly contested areas, with the MCC receiving 392 votes and the PSD trailing closely with 385.

In the Azores, on the smallest island, Corvo, the PS won the elections with a narrow lead of 16 votes over Paulo Margato’s candidacy.

In Caminha, Viana do Castelo district, the margin was 30 votes between the PSD/CDS/PPM coalition and the PS. Meanwhile, in Vila do Bispo, Faro, there was a difference of just 44 ballots separating the social democrats from the socialists.

In Moura, Beja district, the PS outpaced the CDU by 53 votes.

Conversely, the largest gaps between first and second place, in terms of votes, were seen in Oeiras, between Isaltino Morais’s candidacy and the PS, with a margin of 42,786 votes.

In Barcelos, Braga, the PSD and CDS candidacy led the PS by 23,846 votes, while in Leiria the PS surpassed the PSD by 22,106 votes.

In Loures, the PS won over Chega by 21,152 votes, and in Lisbon, the coalition led by Carlos Moedas (PSD/CDS/IL) had a lead of 20,518 votes over Alexandra Leitão’s (PS/L/BE/PAN) coalition.

The PSD, including various coalitions, emerged with the most elected mayors, securing 136 in Sunday’s municipal elections, based on preliminary results from the Ministry of Internal Administration.

The PS came second, capturing 126 municipalities alone and two more in coalition with Livre and PAN. Citizen Groups achieved leadership in 20 municipalities, and the CDU in 12.

The CDS/PP independently elected six mayors, while Chega won in three municipalities.
