During the third quarter of this year (July to September), Santander’s profits rose to 3.504 billion euros, an 8% increase from 2024, marking the sixth consecutive quarter of record results, the bank announced in a statement.
Santander, one of the largest banks worldwide, attributed these results up to September to a strong performance in net interest margin, record levels of fee revenues, and further efficiency improvements while maintaining higher credit quality.
According to the information submitted today to Spain’s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV), Santander closed September with 178 million clients, seven million more than the previous year.
From January to September, customer funds grew by 7% compared to the same period in 2024, with deposits increasing by 5% and investment funds by 16%.
The credit extended by Santander rose by 2% in the first three quarters of the year, reaching 1.0 trillion euros.
Global revenues remained stable at 46.277 billion euros, but fee revenues reached a record of 10.011 billion euros by September.
Santander operates in several European and American countries, with 3.5 million shareholders, 201,000 employees, and 178 million clients.
Last year, the bank achieved profits of 12.574 billion euros, a 14% increase from 2023, marking a record for the third consecutive year.
