In a statement to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM), the bank announced that during a general assembly meeting held today, shareholders decided to appoint João Veiga Anjos to the bank’s Board of Directors for the remainder of the current term (2025 – 2027).
At the end of July, it was announced that João Veiga Anjos would take over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Santander Portugal, succeeding Manuel António Preto, who stepped down due to new responsibilities.
In today’s meeting, it was also decided to “expand the number of Directors on the Board from 14 to 15 members, and elect Rodrigo Echenique Gordillo for the rest of the current term (2025/2027).”
The newly appointed Board members, led by José Carlos Brito Sítima, will assume their roles following authorization or non-opposition from the competent supervisory bodies.
