Santander Universidades has made 140 grants available to young Portuguese university students to participate for three weeks in the European Innovation Academy (EIA). The technological and digital entrepreneurship program in the field of Education started at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto.
The 140 Santander scholarship holders thus join, in Porto, more than 700 students, academics, mentors and speakers of various nationalities, passionate about innovation, entrepreneurship and startups.
Several hundred students from 50 universities in countries such as France, the United States, Spain, Singapore, Taiwan and the United Kingdom are participating in this event, meeting in an international work environment while creating their own startups through an intensive and accelerated innovation program.
Inês Gouveia, director of Santander Universities, says that “it is already becoming a tradition, at this time of year, to immerse yourself in this entrepreneurial environment through the magnificent and transformative experience of the European Innovation Academy, one of the largest entrepreneurship programs in Europe, home to many startups and highly successful companies”.
Since 2017, EIA has organized its summer programs in Portugal, always with the support of Santander Universidades, with the last two editions being held in Porto, after the previous four were held in Cascais.
EIA 2023 has the support of the University of Porto and the Porto City Council, the hosts of this event, having as partners Santander Universities – and also Beta-i, Galp and OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe), among others.
