The IPMA has announced that the islands of São Miguel and Santa Maria, forming the eastern group of the Azorean archipelago, will be under a yellow weather warning from midnight local time (1:00 a.m. in Lisbon) until noon on Thursday. This alert is due to “occasional heavy rainfall, possibly accompanied by thunderstorms.”
The yellow warning, the least severe in a three-tier scale, is issued whenever there is a risk to certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
