A Savannah Resources announced on Thursday the completion of the second phase of the latest drilling campaign at the Barroso Lithium Project in Boticas, Vila Real district. The company achieved a historic milestone, conducting “more than 50,000 meters of drilling since 2017, making it the largest lithium exploration program ever undertaken in Portugal.”
In a statement, it was noted that the “data confirms the high quality of the ore, potentially indicating a larger quantity of lithium than initially estimated.”
“High and consistent lithium grades”
“The results released confirm high and consistent lithium grades in the main deposits and reinforce the potential for future project expansion. Among the most recent results are intersections of up to 67 meters with maximum grades of 1.82% lithium oxide at the Pinheiro deposit – values consistent with the best lithium exploration projects in the world – thus confirming the quality of the ore,” the statement reads.
