Italian band Måneskin will make their live debut in Portugal today, at the start of the 28th Super Bock Super Rock (SBSR) festival, which runs until Saturday near Meco, in the municipality of Sesimbra.
SBSR is once again taking place at Herdade do Cabeço da Flauta, near Praia do Meco, in the district of Setúbal, with the venue open from 4pm and the concerts divided between three stages.
The winners of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021, with their song “Zitti e Buoni”, are today’s headliners, and one of the names most requested by the public for the festival, according to promoter Luís Montez, from Música do Coração.
Participants in the Italian “X Factor” program, Måneskin released their first album, “Il Ballo della Vita”.
Nominated for Grammy, BRIT, NME and Kerrang awards, they took the world by storm with the album “Teatro d’Ira, Vol. 1” and their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Zitti e buoni”.
The band’s most recent album, “Rush”, was released at the beginning of last year.
Today, in addition to Måneskin, the festival’s main stage also features Alice Merton, Tom Morello, Royal Blood and DJ Nina Kraviz.
The other two stages will host performances by Capitão Fausto, ex-Arcade Fire Will Butler with his band Sister Squares, Marc Rebillet, New Max, Anna Prior and Victoria.
To get to the festival, the organization recommends using public transport.
“The ideal is to take the train to Coina and then there’s a bus that stops at the door,” recalled Luís Montez, pointing out that the train journey is included in the areas covered by the Navegante pass.
In addition, outside the venue there is a TVDE point and “an incredible parking area, a remarkable work by the Sesimbra City Council, which will be illuminated and with parking bays”.
Next to the venue is a camping area, free for three-day pass holders, which opened on Thursday and closes at 5pm on Sunday.
“Anyone who hasn’t bought a pass and doesn’t want to go home [after the concerts] can buy a night’s camping,” said Luís Montez.
Between today and Saturday, the organization has free buses to Meco beach, between 10:00 and 19:00.
