In the district’s capital, the municipality confirmed to Lusa that everything is operating smoothly without constraints.
It was also noted that Monday’s power outage is still affecting the water supply network, causing low pressure in some areas of Guarda’s upper zone, including Bairro do Bonfim, Rua Duque de Bragança (Bairro da Caixa) and its surroundings, Rua António Sérgio and its surroundings, Alfarazes, Bairro Nª Sr.ª dos Remédios, and Bairro da Luz.
“The issue is being resolved by Águas do Vale do Tejo,” a source from the Guarda municipality stated, revealing that normal water supply could be restored by the morning.
A widespread electrical supply interruption occurred on Monday, starting at 11:30 a.m., affecting Portugal and Spain, with authorities yet to provide an explanation.
Airports faced closures, and there was congestion in public transport and traffic in major cities as a result of the blackout.
Energy restoration happened gradually throughout the day, beginning with the central region of the country.
The electricity distribution network operator, E-Redes, assured today that services have been fully restored and normalized.
