At 11:00 AM, schools were still awaiting the arrival of exam results, which must be posted today, as informed by the president of the National Association of Directors of Groupings and Public Schools (ANDAEP).
“We are still waiting. Today we have to post the final grades for 9th-grade students, but these final classifications have not yet arrived,” said Filinto Lima, revealing that schools have been receiving numerous calls from parents and students who “are becoming anxious.”
The results of the national exams in Mathematics and Portuguese should have arrived on Monday, as in previous years, so that “early this morning, schools could have posted the grades,” he recounted.
In addition to the anxiety caused to families, the delay is also creating some confusion in schools, which have already had to postpone class councils scheduled for Monday.
“Some schools postponed class councils to this morning and have now postponed them to the afternoon because these meetings are necessary to weigh the final grades of our students,” said Filinto Lima.
The exams account for 30% of the final grade; thus, a student with an internal final grade of 3 but scoring 1 on the final exam fails the subject, the director exemplified.
The work of the class councils “is bureaucratic, but it is easy and quick,” and therefore, Filinto Lima assures that when the grades arrive at schools, “they will be quickly posted.”
So far, directors have not received any explanation for the delay but believe the situation will be resolved during the day.
Filinto Lima emphasizes that the situation “is not problematic” and “should be resolved very soon,” believing that if it is necessary to postpone the registration dates for the second phase of exams, which begins on Friday, “the deadline will certainly be extended.”
Lusa questioned the Ministry of Education this morning about the delay but has not yet received any response.
