The districts of Porto, Viana do Castelo, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga are under an orange warning, the second most serious, due to the forecasts of sea turbulence released today by the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).
The warnings are valid until 03:00 on Sunday, and waves can reach 10 meters high in the districts of Viana do Castelo and Braga.
The districts of Guarda and Castelo Branco are under a yellow warning due to forecasts of snowfall until 12 noon on Sunday.
Snowfall is forecast above 1200 meters, with accumulation of up to four centimetres above 1400 meters and more than five centimetres in the highest parts of Serra da Estrela.
Also under yellow warning are the districts of Faro, with sea turbulence forecast until 18:00 on Sunday, Setúbal (rain until 12:00 and sea turbulence until 18:00 on Sunday), Lisbon, Leiria and Beja for the same reasons.
