The search operations for a fisherman who disappeared with his dog resumed around 8 a.m. today, employing land, sea, and an aerial unit of the Spanish Guardia Civil. Efforts were unsuccessful, but the victim’s belongings were found during land-based searches.
The operations were coordinated by the Port Captain and local commander of the Maritime Police in Caminha, with participation from the Port Captaincy, the ‘SeaWatch’ project, the Portuguese Navy ship NRP Figueira da Foz, units from the Spanish Guardia Civil, and members of the Volunteer Firefighters from Caminha and Vila Praia de Âncora.
In the afternoon, a technical team from the Hydrographic Institute and the Maritime Police’s Forensic Diving Group conducted underwater searches but could not locate the vessel or the victim.

The search for a 62-year-old man and his dog, who were on a recreational fishing vessel that sank today near the Însua Island in Caminha, will continue on Saturday from 7 a.m.
