A man was arrested on Sunday after a robbery at a jewelry store in the Vasco da Gama shopping center in Lisbon. The suspect was in possession of a crowbar, which he used during the robbery to break the store’s display cases, with his face covered.
The robbery was filmed by people inside the shopping center and shared on social media platforms.
The videos show the suspect inside the store while some onlookers outside express astonishment at the situation.
The footage also captures the assailant using a crowbar to shatter a display case within the jewelry store. He then fled through the corridors with the stolen goods.
The suspect was eventually intercepted outside the shopping center by security personnel and subsequently arrested by the Public Security Police (PSP).

A source from the Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (Cometlis) stated that the man, described as “young,” entered the establishment armed with a crowbar. According to the same source, he managed to steal items, notably “gold objects.”
None of the employees or any other individuals were injured.
The man is currently in custody and will appear in court on Tuesday, where the appropriate coercive measures will be decided.
