“There’s something the country needs to know. What is the clear position of Member of Parliament André Ventura, who has already said contradictory statements. It’s almost eleven in the morning, and it’s important that the clock starts ticking for him to clearly state if he will vote against this proposal in the Assembly of the Republic,” stated Seguro to Agência Lusa during his visit to the municipal market of Guarda.
Recalling that the government’s proposal “lacks the agreement of the workers and social dialogue,” António José Seguro expressed hope that presidential candidate André Ventura “will quickly clarify his position because politics is not about saying one thing today and another tomorrow.”
“Politics requires assuming a position with straightforwardness and clarity. Therefore, I am waiting for the response from Member of Parliament André Ventura.”
In Guarda, where he will spend the day, António José Seguro reiterated his call to the government to “with democratic humility, recognize that the [labor reform] proposal is completely illogical and should be withdrawn.”
