A 47-year-old foreign national, who had been sought by Portuguese judicial authorities since May 2014, was apprehended by the Judicial Police (PJ) in Lisbon.
In a statement, the authority detailed that the man was located and taken into custody to serve a six-year prison sentence.
The individual had been convicted for drug trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon. However, since the ruling was finalized in 2014, his whereabouts had remained unknown, with authorities aware only that he was not on national territory.
Following his arrest, he was directly transferred to the respective prison facility to serve his sentence.
