
A 37-year-old man was arrested on Thursday following an incident where he ran over two people after a disagreement in Espinho, in the Aveiro district.
A statement revealed that the incident took place late Wednesday afternoon. The victims, aged 27 and 29, are a tow truck driver and a taxi driver.
“Motivated by the failure to perform a service he requested, the defendant drove his vehicle towards the victims, striking them in a way that caused severe injuries requiring hospitalization and surgical treatment,” the note reads.
The arrested individual has a criminal record for domestic violence.
The PJ further explained that following the arrest, which was on the grounds of alleged attempted homicide, the defendant will be brought before the competent judicial authorities at the Santa Maria da Feira Criminal Instruction Court for questioning and the imposition of coercive measures.
