
Service production increased by 2.1% in the eurozone and 1.7% in the European Union in May compared to the same month last year, according to Eurostat, although data for Portugal was not included.
Compared to April, service production rose by 0.2% in the euro area and 0.3% in the EU.
Among member states, the largest increases compared to May 2024 were recorded in Greece (12.9%), Lithuania (8.9%), and Estonia (7.6%), while the biggest declines were observed in Romania (-11.4%), Denmark (-10.0%), and Malta (-3.0%).
When compared to April, the largest industrial production increases were noted in Denmark (2.8%), Luxembourg (2.0%), and Poland (1.8%), whereas the biggest decreases were seen in Slovakia (-1.8%), Croatia (-1.3%), and Slovenia (-1.0%).
