An accident involving two light vehicles, one for passengers and the other for goods, resulted in seven minor injuries, sources from the Beira Baixa Sub-Regional Command reported to Lusa. The injured, consisting of four males and three females, were transported to the Amato Lusitano Hospital in Castelo Branco.
The road incident took place at 11:19 a.m. at kilometer 119.6, near the Cardigos junction.
According to the reports, the road remained closed to traffic until 1:17 p.m., at which time the route between Sertã and Proença-a-Nova was reopened.
The male victims are aged 4, 27, 64, and 34 years, whereas the female victims are aged 27, 30, and 34 years.
The rescue operations involved the fire brigades from Proença-a-Nova and Sertã, deploying 16 personnel and seven vehicles, the Republican National Guard (GNR) with four vehicles and seven officers, and the Infrastructure of Portugal with one vehicle and two employees.
