E-Redes states that these interventions involve operations, connections, repairs, or maintenance work on infrastructure in a planned and controlled manner.
“Temporary and short-duration interruptions occur when all alternative supply options are exhausted to ensure minimal impact on customers,” the E-Redes website reads.
The company also emphasizes that, for safety reasons, in case of early restoration of electrical supply or the need for technical testing, all installations should be considered permanently energized.
“Scheduled maintenance work on the distribution network is conducted under Articles 72 and 75 of the Commercial Relations Regulation of the Electricity and Gas Sector,” it adds.
In a related note, E-Redes highlights that its efforts, as reported by CEER (Council of European Energy Regulators), have established it as a European benchmark in executing scheduled interventions with minimal supply impact.
“Electrical outages” on Sunday in seven municipalities are “regular” situations
E-Redes has clarified that “scheduled outages” of electricity, due to work on the distribution network, are “regular” maintenance situations.
“It is nothing out of the ordinary context,” an E-Redes spokesperson said, adding that such work happens every Sunday.
The spokesperson further noted that locations experiencing “scheduled outages” due to “maintenance work” are always pre-announced on the company’s website.
The operator added that “these interruptions also serve to address issues that may pose a risk to the electrical network’s safety and/or prevent failures.”

E-Redes explains that these are “scheduled interruptions, pre-arranged,” aimed at “ensuring the quality and reliability of electrical service.” See the list of affected locations.
