The Animal Intervention and Rescue group (IRA) rescued two dogs on Sunday that were found on highway A4.
“After returning from an intervention, an IRA team encountered a shar-pei and a French bulldog on highway A4. Our team members proceeded to capture and contain the animals using appropriate equipment, ensuring the safety of those involved and the motorists passing through,” the IRA stated in a social media post.
The group notified the highway operator Ascendi and the Public Security Police and found “the absence of a microchip,” making it “impossible” to identify the owner of the animals to return them.
“The animals were then taken to the IRA facilities, where they will remain until we locate the owners or arrange for responsible adoption after the 15-day period stipulated by law. We ask for everyone’s help in reaching their owners through your shares,” the IRA appealed.
