A vessel arrived this Sunday at the Sines port terminal loaded with Russian liquefied natural gas.

The ship, which left on July 27 from Sabetta, a town in the Russian Federation where there is a port and a liquefied natural gas plant, sailed north of Norway, without a concrete identification of its destination, but arrived this Sunday at the terminal of the port of Sines.

The vessel sailed under the flag of Hong Kong.

The Port of Sines Administration had estimated that the ship would arrive in Portugal on Saturday night, August 5, but it only docked this Sunday morning, around 8:18 am.

This is not the first time that Vladimir Vize has unloaded gas in Portugal. It has done so several times before, under the long-term contract that Spain’s Naturgy (formerly Gas Natural Fenosa) signed with Russia’s Yamal LNG.

Naturgy is one of several companies using the REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais terminal in Sines to bring natural gas into Portugal. Groups such as Galp, EDP and Endesa also do so, although with cargoes from other origins, mainly Nigeria and the United States of America.
