At least three people were injured following a shooting that took place late Friday afternoon in Bairro Verde, Peso da Régua. A 45-year-old man has been detained by the Polícia Judiciária, with the collaboration of the GNR Post of Peso da Régua, for being suspected of attempting to kill four people.
Among the four victims — men aged between 37 and 62 — one refused hospital treatment while the others were transported to hospitals in Vila Real and Lamego, confirmed Notícias ao Minuto.
In a statement sent to newsrooms on Saturday, the Polícia Judiciária detailed that the events occurred yesterday, September 12, at 7:00 PM.
For “trivial reasons,” the suspect used a firearm and shot at the victims on a public street in the local neighborhood of Peso da Régua.
The detained individual will be presented for judicial interrogation to determine appropriate coercive measures, concludes the PJ in a statement.
