A Polícia de Segurança Pública was deployed to Bairro do Zambujal in Amadora this Sunday following reports of gunfire on public streets around 9:30 PM.
The development was confirmed by Notícias ao Minuto through the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Polícia de Segurança Pública (Cometlis), which confirmed that at least one firearm was seized.
An official from Cometlis also stated that a security perimeter was established in the area and investigations are currently in progress.
In addition, the network reported that more than one firearm was confiscated, and several individuals were detained—a detail not yet confirmed by Notícias ao Minuto with Cometlis.
A vehicle was reportedly intercepted by the authorities, and according to witnesses who spoke with CNN Portugal, at least four high-powered cars were observed moving in the area.
