Shot dead in Almada is from Bangladesh. Minor daughters witnessed the death.

A 44-year-old Bangladeshi immigrant was fatally shot in Feijó, Almada, on Friday night. The victim was a grocery store owner.

A friend of the victim, Robin, revealed that the man was shot shortly before 10 p.m. as he was closing the store, which typically closes at 9 p.m.

“Yesterday he tried to close at 9 p.m. as well when three people came here attempting to enter the store. He said no, it was closed, and they couldn’t come in. They tried to enter, he insisted no. One of them pulled out a gun and killed him,” Robin relayed to SIC Notícias.

The victim reportedly resisted and chased the assailants but was ultimately struck by three deadly shots. His pregnant wife and their two daughters, both under 13, witnessed the incident and are assisting the police in identifying the suspects, who remain at large.

A neighbor told the same television channel that she saw two young men, not three.

“I saw one young man running, who escaped that way, and the other turned around and fired three shots. His wife was in the street with a phone in hand, screaming and pointing at the phone for someone to help. She doesn’t speak Portuguese,” the neighbor recounted.

The National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) declared the man dead at the scene.

The Judiciary Police (PJ) are investigating the case.

Surveillance cameras from a funeral home and a pharmacy across from the grocery store captured the murder, and the footage is being reviewed by the PJ.
