A man was admitted to Hospital de São Bernardo in Setúbal after sustaining injuries but is not in life-threatening condition, according to police sources. Authorities were alerted via the national emergency number, 112, but the suspects involved could not be identified upon police arrival at the scene.
The Special Police Unit was deployed around 6:00 PM on Sunday to ensure the neighborhood’s security and prevent potential retaliations. The Judicial Police (PJ) of Setúbal took over the investigation as the incident involved firearms.
A representative from the PJ of Setúbal stated that preliminary information suggests the shooting stemmed from a dispute among individuals with familial ties, which resulted in multiple gunshots.
A man in his 50s was injured on Sunday afternoon amid “firearm disturbances” on Avenida da Bela Vista in Setúbal. He was transported to and treated at the Setúbal hospital.
