SIC went from profit to a loss of 1.1 million euros in the first half of the year

SIC reported a consolidated net loss of 1.1 million euros for the semester, as stated by the television network from the Impresa group in a communication to the Comissão do Mercado de Valores Mobiliários (CMVM).

However, when adjusted for restructuring costs, the net loss was 0.2 million euros, SIC added.

The total revenues of SIC amounted to 73.8 million euros, marking a 1.1% decline.

“The growth in revenues from content sales and channel subscriptions, reflecting a strategy of diversification, partly offset the reduction in advertising revenues,” it noted.

The earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) dropped by 43.6% to 2.6 million euros during the analyzed semester.

Recurring EBITDA was 3.7 million euros, a decrease of 21.8% compared to the same period in 2024, a year when advertising revenues were boosted by events such as Rock in Rio and the 2024 European Football Championship.

Operational costs increased by 1.7%, driven in part by costs associated with content sales and particularly by restructuring costs, SIC noted.

The loss for Impresa rose to 5.1 million euros in the first six months, but when adjusted for restructuring costs, it stood at 3.9 million euros.
