At 8:00 PM, in the corner of a room on the -1 floor of the Altis Hotel in Lisbon, silence reigned as four television screens announced the election result projections.
The room, mostly filled with empty chairs, remained unmoved despite projections indicating a loss for the PS, with some projections showing a tie with Chega.
The expressions of those present were notably somber.
The Secretary-General of the PS, Pedro Nuno Santos, along with other members of the secretariat, observed the election night from another floor in the hotel.
Television projections of the election results declared a victory for the AD in the legislative elections, securing between 29% and 36.9%, with the PS and Chega trailing closely.
According to polls by RTP, SIC, TVI/CNN, and NOW, the PS is anticipated to secure between 19.4% and 26%, while Chega is expected to obtain between 19.5% and 26.6%.
