A letter sent today to the company, accessed by Lusa, states that SIMA members “will not strike” following the agreement.
“The pre-strike notice is nullified due to the agreement reached between the SIMA Trade Union Commission and company representatives at the Ministry of Labor, Solidarity, and Social Security, alongside ministry representatives,” the document reads.
The cancellation follows strikes held from July 25 to 28 and August 8 to 11, demanding an end to base salaries below the minimum wage, better wages, and the proper payment of night hours, among other demands.
The strikes scheduled for August 15 to 18, August 22 to 25, and August 29 to September 1 are thereby canceled.
