
A warning regarding an incident was issued around 5:30 PM after a cable attached to a vessel broke at the Cais do Sodré in Lisbon, also resulting in a broken glass, according to the National Maritime Authority (AMN).
Paulo Surgy, deputy commander of the Cacilhas Volunteer Firefighters, reported that victims were aided on the Seixalense vessel of Transtejo at the Cacilhas pier in Almada, Setúbal district.
Initially, there were five injured individuals, with a sixth later reported.
Three victims were treated at the scene, while the other three were transported to Garcia de Horta Hospital in Almada, Surgy further detailed.
One person was injured by glass shards, added Paulo Surgy.
Responders at the scene included personnel from the Cacilhas firefighters, featuring an emergency watercraft and ambulance, as well as teams from INEM and the Maritime Police, totaling 11 operatives.
