The obstetrics and gynecology emergency departments at the hospitals in Barreiro, Vila Franca de Xira, Aveiro, and Leiria will be closed this Saturday and Sunday, according to the schedule on the official portal.
The Caldas da Rainha Hospital’s department will only be closed on Saturday, while those at Garcia de Orta and Santarém hospitals will shut down on Sunday.
This weekend, the pediatric emergency department at Vila Franca de Xira Hospital is also set for closure.
As for the referenced emergency departments, which only receive cases referred by the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM) or the SNS 24 line, the portal indicates the pediatric departments at Amadora-Sintra Hospital (between 00:00-08:00 and 20:00-24:00) and Beatriz Ângelo Hospital in Loures (00:00-24:00) on both Saturday and Sunday.
The same applies to the obstetrics and gynecology emergency departments at Amadora-Sintra Hospital between 08:00-24:00 on both days, and at São Francisco Xavier Hospital (Lisboa Ocidental) from 00:00-08:00 on Saturday.
Moreover, the obstetrics and gynecology departments at São Bernardo Hospital (Setúbal), between 08:00-24:00, and Braga Hospital, between 20:00-24:00, will only attend to referred cases during the weekend.
Health authorities urge the public to contact the SNS24 line (808 24 24 24) for proper guidance before visiting an emergency department.
