Six crew members, aged between 21 and 59, required assistance on the night of Sunday, August 31, after facing difficulties aboard a recreational vessel grounded on sandbanks in the Cambalhão area, in Troia.
The National Maritime Authority (AMN) reported that the alert was raised at 8:21 PM by the vessel itself, indicating that “six people were in difficulty.”
Following the alert, “crew members from the Sesimbra Lifeboat Station were immediately activated,” and upon arrival, it was confirmed that the “victims were in good physical condition, without the need for medical assistance.”
Subsequently, the six crew members were assisted and transported to Troia.
The owner was “notified of the need to present a plan for the vessel’s removal and may only navigate again after undergoing an inspection to ensure normal navigability conditions.”
