Roads in the central massif of the Serra da Estrela are closed to traffic due to snowfall, a Civil Protection source told Lusa news agency.
According to the Emergency and Civil Protection Sub-Regional Command for Beiras and Serra da Estrela, based in Guarda, the snow that fell during the night and early morning forced three sections of road to be cut off.
At 06:00, traffic was banned on sections 11 (Piornos – Torre), 12 (Torre – Torre) and 13 (Torre – Lagoa Comprida), according to Civil Protection.
