The Social Security Informatics Institute (II, IP) and the Portuguese Judicial Police have signed an agreement to enhance cooperation in strengthening cybersecurity and mitigating digital risks, according to a joint statement from both entities.
The agreement is set to last for two years and will be automatically renewed for equal periods, although it is subject to revision at any time.
This collaboration involves the development of technological solutions aimed at automating and digitalizing processes.
Additionally, it encompasses the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence to aid in criminal investigations and fraud prevention.
The integration of the institutions’ IT systems will be achieved through “automatic and secure electronic communication.”
As noted by the Social Security Informatics Institute, this process ensures the confidentiality of shared data.
