Manuel Pizarro, who lost to Pedro Duarte in the election for the Porto municipality on October 12, attended the “Accelerate Portugal – Artificial Intelligence” conference cycle organized by the National Association of Young Entrepreneurs to witness the candidate’s speech.
On October 19, the PS National Commission approved José Luís Carneiro’s proposal for formal support to Seguro. However, the PS Secretary-General clarified that this endorsement should not undermine the “freedom” of leaders and members to support other candidates.
Dr. António Araújo, who initially submitted an independent candidacy for the Porto city council but was not present in the election due to an insufficient number of signatures as judged by the Constitutional Court, also attended the conference and expressed his support for Gouveia e Melo, as revealed by the candidate’s advisory team.
The presidential elections are scheduled for January 18, 2026.
